Description Stevens Orchard is an 111-year old orchard on the banks of Lake Champlain in picturesque Vermont. We proudly offer a beautiful gift box of wonderful Honeycrisp apples for the holiday season. Order this great gift because you want to surprise yourself or someone else with something wonderfully delicious and satisfying. This variety, bred specifically to grow in cold northern climates by the University of Minnesota, was in development for thirty years as “Minnesota 1711” before being patented and introduced commercially in 1991 as Honeycrisp. A seedling cross between the tart Macoun and the sweet Honeygold, Honeycrisp is crisp to the bite, sweet and slightly tangy to taste, and juicier than any other apple around, explosively so. It has the uncharacteristic ability to stay outside of refrigeration for weeks without softening or losing flavor.
